Artist's Comments

16"x20" Acrylic on wrapped canvas

I started out with nothing but a knife on this one.
I`ve been watching all these great artists working with nothing but a knife lately and I decided to have a go.

I lasted about 2 hours then I grabbed the big brush.
I`ve apparently got this control issue to get over.

Christine by *linwood is absolutely spectacular with not only painting technique but the blend of abstract form and realism. (Suggested by ~mySeity and Featured by `oedalis)

I love this!! You blend the two methods (knife and brush) very well.

Steve, omg...I am in love with this piece. Holy shit. Seriously...I knew you had something more incredible in you to be explored but this just floors me.

Please, explore this more. It's magnificent.

I`m glad you like it.

It`s a study for my RIP of Purgatory.

Which I`m starting tonight.

This is pretty amazing. I am slightly troubled by the left hand pinky finger but otherwise it is utterly captivating. The contrasting lines between background and subject, the shading, the realistic curves and flesh tones again contrasting with the background colors, it all makes her misery and her beauty both stand out in contrast just as her lovely form is in contrast with the raw, jagged background. She shouldn't be where she is, both literally and metaphorically and so the piece grabs me and doesn't let me go.

Thank you DJ.

I do like the way you see the painting.

It means I`m getting my point across.

Beautiful painting! Great lighting and shading.
The pose is very peaceful. The background adds some color without overpowering the figure.
